Week 3 In Review

Week 3:
You look so big!

Hanging out with Dad

-You got your first case of baby acne. It's only on the right side of your face and forehead. Slowly getting rid of it, but we think your beautiful no matter what!

 - It seems like you are awake a lot more this week. We lay you on your boppy and you will look around, kick your feet and grunt. We also put you in the swing and you seem to like it. Dad says your favorite thing to do is sit in your "spot" and stare at him.

On Wednesday, I finally took you to get your "newborn photos." They usually reccommend doing them by day 10 of your life, but I'm quite the procrastinator so you were 22 days old! Doesn't matter though, you're still so precious in them.
 - Lots of time hanging out with Mom and Dad. I go back to work in two weeks, and it makes me so sad, I have to get in all the cuddles I can. The only thing that makes it bearable is that you will be with Dad four days of the week while I'm at work.

-Spent some time hanging out with cousin Jace! Grandma and I just laughed and laughed at you two because you were just talking to each other the whole time. It was so sweet :) I think being 4 days apart is going to be so fun for you two.
 - You took your first nap in your crib! You looked so little and it just melted my heart. I'm not ready for you to be down the hall yet, so we will just have to start with naptimes!

 - You have been rocking the mohawk! After bathtime, I usually brush your hair while Dad dries you off in the towel. But this time, I dried you off and put on your lotion (and snuck in some pics) before I got to your hair, and this is how it dried!! Dad obviously loved it.

We love you sweet Bellanor! (But you need to stop growing so fast, please.)
Nap time in Mom & Dad's bed!

Week 2

Week 2

- You had your first blowout! We were eating at Golden Corral with Tete when you started working on it! We carried you out to the car, did an emergency outfit & diaper change and headed home. You didn't even blink an eye!

- You went to your first corn maze. This is something that Kapriel and I do every year, and I'm glad that you got to be part of our tradition this year (and many to come!). We did the corn maze, went to the petting zoo and saw some shetland ponies, goats, and pot bellied pigs. Mom wanted to watch the pig races but we got lost in the corn maze too long and missed it! It was also our first time using the baby carrier & it went well! You seemed comfy and the only downside was that it made us both pretty warm.

 - You got your first real bath in your tub because your umbilical cord stump finally fell off! Mom and Dad tag teamed it and you just layed there and looked around, while we washed you and gave you a mohawk. I think your favorite part is when Dad wraps you up in your towel at the end and holds you. ;)
 - Sometimes in the morning, after you eat, we let you lay in the bed with us. We put you in the middle, but somehow you often end up on dad's side. He sure loves you
 - We spent lots of time holding you and kissing you and loving you! We can't get enough of those chubby cheeks and perfect little lips.

 - We took some family pictures around the backyard. You slept through most of it, even though we passed you around like a little football from person to person. Everyone wanted to be the one to hold you in their pictures! We were just trying to decide what pose to do next when you let us know you were DONE by spitting up all over your pretty dress and Dad's shirt.

It's been a fun week little peekers! We love you so much!

Family Pictures

On Tuesday we took some family pictures before Grandma Jeanne had to leave and go back to Nevada. Eleanor slept through them all but still looked pretty precious.

Week 1 In Review

Sweet Ellie Belly.

Week 2 has just been settling in to our life as a family of 3.

- Grandma Jeanne has been staying with us from Nevada and will go home on Monday. She likes to hold you and say "beee-youuu-taful" to you over and over.

- Breastfeeding has not come easy to us. You will not latch on straight away and play around or make yourself mad. We switch positions and sides until you finally find something you like. Then nurse for 2 minutes. So we start the cycle all over again. Sometimes we catch you half-smiling, and it makes us laugh. I started pumping so Dad can give you a bottle at night.

-You and Dad are the best of friends! He always wants to hold you and puts you on his chest. He calls it "your spot." He talks to you about baseball and football scores and calls you Belly. I might have a Daddy's girl on my hands.

- You had your first doctor's appointment on Friday. You were back up to your birth weight of 9lb 5oz and 21 inches in length. You pooped on their scale when Dad took you back to get weighed and he had to change you. Then you pooped 2x more times in the room and got it all over the bed. Dad called you a show off.
They said everything else looked good and we don't have to come back until your 2 month check up.

- Dad had to go back to work Friday night. :( Boo. We enjoyed having him home with us for the past 10 days. And he was sad too, he loves hanging out with you. ;)

- You have received visitors EVERY DAY! Your Aunt Tete, Cousin Kapriel and Grandma & Papaw come almost everyday after work and say hi. You have also met Grandpa Hutchins, Uncle Chance & Brianna, Brian, Anne Marie & Zane, and mom's boss Gayla. Lots of other people call and text mom to ask about you.

- You make the FUNNIEST faces! We all sit around and watch you pucker up your lips, furrow your eyebrows or squinch up your face. Sometimes you peek your eyes open and it looks like you are trying to see if anyone is looking at you. We always are ;)

We love you Ellie Belly!!
