Safari

Lions, Tigers & Bears
Oh My!
Or more accurately,
Deer, Emus and Zebras
Oh my!

We took a trip to the Gentry Safari yesterday
to add a little adventure to our Sunday.
You and Jase just LOVED getting to ride out of the carseats
and were hanging out the windows like little puppies.

It was so funny to watch you,
because you have absolutely no fear!
You were reaching your hands out the windows
and would even yell when we pulled away from the animals to keep driving.

Only one close call with a frisky zebra,
and lots of screaming and frantically rolling up our windows
when an emu came racing for the car.
Because those things are evil!

just like dad.

when I saw a friend of mine post these red Converse on FB for sell,
I knew I had to snatch them up!
because Ellie wants to be just like her dad.

It started a couple of years ago
when Sadie bought Eric a pair of red Converse.
and then he got another pair the following year.
Now, that's all he has.

She won't even be able to wear these for too long,
but it didn't matter.
Just too sweet to pass up!

day in tulsa.

we celebrated Sadie's birthday last sunday
with a mini road trip to Tulsa.

we slept in and left almost an hour and a half after planned.
and I had to move to the backseat before we even got out of springdale.

the rest of the day was spent at the aquarium, fish watching.
and at the pool, relaxing.
and some delicious barbeque, prepared by my favorite husband.

it was a fun little getaway for a day!

Belly Laughs.

Here are 2 things that have been making you laugh this past week:

I walked in the garage door from work,
and could immediately hear you just dying laughing.
Over and over.
And then I heard Dad saying, "Achoo!" "Achoo!"
Over and over.
He told me y'all had been doing that for a while,
and you thought it was the funniest thing he ever did!

And for me...
I was laying my hand over one of your toys,
you would lean over, pick up my hand & grab the toy with your other.
I would tell you HEY, you tricked me!
And I would hold the toy and shake it like I was going to take it from you,
and you thought it was the funniest thing I ever did!

Silly little giggle girl!

boom.

family firework trip.
it didn't turn out quite like I expected,
thanks to my waittilthelastminute planning.

we parked 1834739 miles far away.
got there as it was getting dark, so we couldn't find our cousins
who were on the opposite side of us.

I took the big camera for group shots
but it was so dark, I couldn't see if they were in focus.
They mostly weren't.

Eleanor decided she hates fireworks.
And cried almost the whole time.
The thought didn't even cross my mind,
because we had seen some in St. Louis and she didn't seem to mind.

But we DID get to spend time with our family,
see some beautiful fireworks (in between comforting Eleanor)
and make another memory with our baby love.
